Shell Restoration
If you have a SPH3B, SPH4, AFH, APH, HGU33..., shell that has seen some
action, in most cases we can restore the surface and paint the outer
shell with a similar color, and or change colors. The shells are sanded,
filled with filler, re-sanded, cleaned, taped, painted, then cleared
(mat or gloss). When your shell starts to look beat instead of buying
a new helmet keep your helmet looking its best. Shell restoration starts
at $150.00.

Aph-6 helmet. Before and After. New paint has
been applied, as well as a reflective tape decoration matching the original.
Used or damaged spare parts have been replaced to give the helmet a
fresh new look.
Helmet Art
Helmet art is a chance to display your military service, areas of interest,
to commemorate events, or simply have fun! This is how the process works.
First contact us with your idea or design. Second, send or collect as
many pictures of your idea or image that is available. Third, contact
us to arrange shipping, approximate cost and completion date. (Most
projects require 3 - 6 weeks depending on complexity of art and availability
of materials). Fourth, please, if possible, strip helmet to the shell,
if you don’t feel comfortable, we will disassemble and reassemble
your helmet with the following notes: We cannot test, check or adjust
helmets or communications systems. We simply do art work on
helmet shells. The cost for helmet stripping and re-installing
is an additional $150.00.
Ship your helmet with all contact data, when it is received, you will
receive an email with confirmation number. A written proposal and projected
completion date will be assigned. The art process begins, a layout will
be placed on your helmet and pictures sent to you for your approval.
Each step is documented and requires customer approval before the next
stage. We document as much as possible to insure accurate completion
of the project. Once a final art layout is agreed upon, payment is due
thru Paypal, Money Order or Bank Check. Once final payment has been
received, the helmet is clear coated and shipped.
We reserve the right to not complete a project with questionable or
copy righted material.
Note: You can have your helmet aviation art
painted on a flat surface (aluminum, sheet metal, masonite, canvas,
watercolor paper, etc) suitable for framing. If you are replacing a
dinged piece of sheet metal from your “Mooney”, Tri-pacer”
why not paint Cav Sabers, “Death from Above” or the “Grim
Reaper” on the replacement sheet metal. Give us a call for a quote
and availability.
Museum Art
If your Vietnam Group, WW2 Group or any Organization that helps commemorate
and preserve any era of "Combat Aviation" would like to have
a helmet decorated, nose art panel painted, a unit or period, send us
a letter on Museum or Organization letterhead and in most cases we will
do the project free of charge. We would ask that we be allowed to display
the piece in our "Museum Work" section of our web page to
show other interested groups some of our work and donations. Note: the
same requirements apply to Museum helmets that apply to Helmet Art.
We have a very modest inventory of SPH, APH, AFH parts and may be able
to complete some helmets, but contact us first before you send it. At
this time we do not apply Retro tape.
Vinyl Artwork Reproduction
Our artist can take your images, original logo artwork and recreate
it for flight helmet applications. If you have a flight helmet that
you want to decorate with a particular unit logo, color, or patch we
might be able to help. Please contact us for a quote and artwork requirements.

Helmet coating
Mike Tanzi, our clear coat tech preparing helmets for the final application. We use a heated down draft automotive paint booth.
